Ivey Engineering & Construction Services Inc. is a design, construction consulting, forensic engineer and expert witness firm specializing in HVAC, energy conserving building systems, plumbing, process piping and fire protection systems.

Construction claims preparation and defense consulting services such as schedule analysis, impact analysis, cost estimating, change order pricing, damage calculation, presentation and litigation support are performed for claims involving delay, disruption, differing site conditions, over inspection, excessive change orders, change order entitlement, cardinal changes and abandonment.

IEI professionals are experienced with all types of fire protection systems. These include water based, wet, dry, halon, CO2, carbon dioxide, deluge systems and diesel fire pump systems.

The staff is experienced with all types of fire protection materials including cast iron, ductile iron, malleable iron, CPVC, copper water tube, brass, galvanized steel, black steel, brazed, soldered, butt weld, socket welded, mechanical joint, threaded, screwed, grooved, Victaulic and Grulok.

Fire protection system design errors and omissions and professional liability claims are investigated, analyzed, prepared, presented and defended.

Fire protection equipment failure is investigated involving sprinklers, pumps, day tanks, storage tanks and valves.

Fire protection product defects are investigated involving defective pipe, all valve types, plastic pipe and fittings, pump problems and dezincification.

IEI investigates construction defects involving fire protection including pipe installation, pipe welding, leaking pipes, inadequate water pressure, excessive water pressure, improper pipe, leaks, leak damage, contamination, microbial influenced corrosion, MIC, tank systems, fire hazard, hangers and seismic supports.

Damage caused by fire protection problems is investigated such as pipe leak problems, flood, equipment leaks, leaks from under ground piping, explosion, fire and corrosion.

IEI investigates health and safety issues such as mold, explosions, fires, floods due to fire sprinkler system leaks, construction safety, construction injuries and product safety.

The firm is experienced in the application of all major model building codes and standards such as the Uniform Building Code, UBC, International Building Code, IBC, and NFPA Standard 13, 13D, 13R, 14, 20, 24, 25, 72 and 101.
